Job Brief

To meet the purchasing requirements of Clarke Telecom, ensuring best value for the company by selecting the right product on the basis of price, quality, and supplier reliability.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for:

Managing the purchasing cycle in accordance with agreed procedures and quality standards, including:
• Placing and monitoring the progress of orders for both job and non-job related activities
• Price materials and plant and select the most appropriate supplier
• Identifying and dealing with issues as they arise, liaising with internal customers and the Purchasing Manager as appropriate.

Supplier Management
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a production and competitive relationship
• Monitor supplier performance
• Maintain records of liability insurance for sub-contractors / suppliers

Computerised Systems
• Use and maintain NAVISON in real-time to monitor the progress of orders and suppliers
• Ensure that current supplier performance data is logged

General
• Booking of travel and accommodation for senior managers and office based staff
• Scanning and filing all paperwork electronically onto Navision

Essential Knowledge and Skills

Essential/Desirable Skills/Attributes
Essential
• Good level of IT skills- advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office- Word & Excel
• A level standard of education

Desirable
• Minimum of 12 months previous work experience in the Purchasing environment
• Experience with Navision software
• Previous experience in the mobile infrastructure industry

In addition the role holder will be expected to demonstrate
• Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative
• Very good written and communication skills
• Good attention to detail
• Good organisational skills
• Flexible and adaptable- does what needs to be done
• Customer Focused
• Good relationship skills to enable effective team working skills

Hours of Work
8.30-5pm Mon-Fri
