Job Brief

The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for providing electrical project support and expertise to the functional project leads within Clarke Telecom in support of their customers requirements and service level agreements, to time, cost and quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for:
• Liaison with the internal customers within Clarke Telecom to ensure project delivery to the customers service level agreements and key performance indicators – internal customers being the project management, and build managers
• The ongoing electrical maintenance of the Mobicell fleet held by Clarke Telecom on behalf of its customers
• Attendance at MSV and allocation of programme of works to electricians when requested
• Liaison with design engineers following MSV to agree proposals, cable and tray routes, power solutions and assess whether REC or Landlord supply required
• Requesting the appropriate materials from purchasing and if a sub contractor is to be used raise the purchase order to cover their works
• Attendance at pre start meetings if required to support on technical electrical issues and on sites where a complicated build is required and all rooftop sites
• Ensuring the electricians within Clarke Telecom have the correct training to carry out their work safety and effectively
• Obtaining from the customer approval for ad hoc and special designs i.e. bracketing, cabinets etc
• Ensuring all electrical works conducted on behalf of Clarke Telecom are carried out safely and within all existing compliance regulations i.e. 17th Edition Wiring Regulations signing off certification
• the scheduling of day to day site works programme for staff in support of all Clarke Telecom projects
• Line management of internal and their development needs signing off timesheets and holidays
• Ensuring a high quality of electrical work is implemented via audits between 5 and 10%
• Ensuring electrical element (17th edition and lightning protection) of Site Handovers is completed in a timely and accurate manner and all relevant certification is produced
• Liaison with the Clarke Group energy design teams in support of both their and Clarke Telecom projects
• Reporting on performance, service level agreements an financial implications of electrical works
• Attendance at customer and internal project review meetings as requested

Essential Knowledge and Skills

• Qualifying supervisor 17th Edition
• 17th Edition Test and Inspection qualification
• City and Guilds parts 1 and 2 electrical
• Good Project Management Skills
• Good IT Skills (Excel, Word, Access etc)
• GCSE B minimum in English and Maths
• Minimum of 3 years in a similar electrical role
• Experience in a Telecoms environment of minimum 5 years
• People Management Skills

• Supplier Relationship Management Skills
• Good communicator
• Able to work in a Team environment and an effective team player
• Customer focused
• Passion and Drive
• Full driving license
• Decisive

Desirable Knowledge and Skills

• Experience of Vendor equipment
• Project Management accreditation
